The American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) has recommended as much as 5 hours of moderate-intensity physical activity per week for long-term weight loss or MORE to prevent weight regain!

OUCH! That’s a lot of exercise… And it might not even work!

The reason we gain weight has little to do with being sedentary and everything to do with our diet. Physical activity only constitutes about 20-30% of the calories we burn, while our diet constitutes 100% of the calories we take in. Actually, our diet even influences the number of calories we burn as well!

There are also ways exercising can make ‘sticking to a diet’ more difficult, or just make the whole weight loss experience miserable…

While on the other hand, there’s a different type of exercise, as opposed to cardio, that may be better for weight loss… Check out the video!

Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m all for working out! Being fit has a LOT of benefits. It’s just important to understand what to expect from exercising when it comes to weight loss.
